You’re sure the battery is charged and there’s oil in the chamber, but nothing’s happening. Is the battery to blame? Maybe a blocked mouthpiece? Or could it be something else entirely?
There’s nothing more annoying than a vape that refuses to work, especially when you can’t figure out the reason.
Fear not, we’ve put together a handy list of troubleshooting tips to quickly get you back to enjoying your session!
Troubleshooting Your Vape: Identifying and Fixing the Issue
Battery Troubles
Remember, some batteries activate on draw, so if there’s a clog in the cartridge, this check might not tell you much. If you think the battery might be the culprit, consider reaching out to the manufacturer for guidance.
Incorrect Voltage Settings
Keep in mind, products like live resin, live rosin, and FSHO generally work best at lower temperatures to maintain their flavor and cannabinoids, whereas distillates are suited to low-to-medium temperatures.
Be mindful of how long and hot you draw, as excessive heat and duration can burn the oil, resulting in harsh, unpleasant hits. Test different settings to find your ideal vaping experience.
Cartridge and Battery Connection
Adjust how tightly the cartridge is attached, ensuring the 510 threading connects correctly.
Dealing with a Clogged Cartridge
Cannabis oil is notoriously sticky, and clogs can occur after periods of inactivity, temperature changes, or just by the nature of the product.
If you suspect a clog, here are some techniques to try:
First, remove the cartridge from the battery. You can gently warm the cartridge by rolling it in your hands, placing it near a heat source (but not too close!), using a hairdryer on a low setting, or submerging it in a sealed plastic bag in warm water.
After a few minutes of these methods, reattach the cartridge to the charged battery and see if it clears the blockage.
If warming doesn’t work, carefully insert a paperclip or needle into the mouthpiece and gently twist to remove any residue. Cleaning the mouthpiece and the 510 thread connection with rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab can also be effective.
Be cautious with these methods to avoid damaging your cartridge.
